The Busy Life

Hello to all my dear friends!

I am sorry that it has been so long since I have posted in here. Life has gotten a bit crazy. We have settled into our new home, and are working still to make it our own. I will be posting photos soon. I am finally able to paint and decorate to my own taste, which has been wonderful. Here is a photo of the amazing view from my front window. This is my mother in law's shop..... just makes you drool doesn't it??

This summer has held many changes that will lead to wonderful things in the future. I have decided to go back to school. Right now I am in a college prep program to get myself ready, and brush up on some skills that have gone to the way side over the past several years.... mainly math! My goal is to start at a local community college in January to get my associates degree in graphic design and website development. I am so very excited about taking this step. This will combine my love of art, and computer skills. Not to mention I will be able to work from home and be with my kiddos. I will not stop making primitives tho! I have been doing a bit of primming since the move, but everything has gone into the shop. The fall open house is just around the corner, so I have been trying to fit in some primming time to get some things ready for that.
I have also worked very hard to create my first Izzannah Walker style doll, and I am so pleased with how she came out. I will be posting photos of her next week, along with some photos of the process that went into making her.
Until then.............
Ahhhhh, it has felt so good to blog again!!

Last Minute Primmin'

Well... the move is less than 2 weeks away. But before i could get my work room packed up i had to finish up some dollies for my mother in law's shop, since she opens for the spring next month... if weather cooperates. They are doing a bunch of remodeling, painting floors and things, but it's been tooooo cold for everything to dry. Anyway... i thought i'd share some pics of what i'm putting in the shop for when she opens.

These first ones are from a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern.... Maureen has the best patterns!!

Then these sweeties are from my own pattern. I'm hoping... if all goes as planned... to have these up on my site after the move..... and soon have a pattern available for them too!

Well, i'm off to start packing up my work room.... have a blessed rest of the week!!

Mamma Chick & Baby

Well... things are a bit crazy around our house lately. We are moving the end of this month, so we are going through the process of organizing, packing, cleaning, and weeding out. Our new home will be small compared to our last two homes, but it is a wonderful opportunity as we will be able to save up to finally purchase our own home! Not to mention we will be living across the parking lot from my mother-in-law's AMAZING primitive gift shop, so i will be in heaven! That also means she'll be keeping me busy sewing and painting and whatever else my little heart desires! lol!

I thought i'd take a moment in the midst of the chaos and show you all my newest creation. This will be my last Easter doll for the year.... and my last listing before we move. I am soooo in love with this set!!

Here's my Mamma and Baby Chicks... and as usual you can click on the photo to get to the listing, which ends tomorrow afternoon.

NEPG March Launch

It's time for another NEPG Group launch!! New England Primitive Gathering is a wonderful ebay group that i am in. We are in the middle of our second monthly group launch. If you don't know what a launch is.... it's when the group picks a theme and everyone in the group creates something that fits the theme. For March the theme is Bunnies, Birdies and Blossoms, Oh My!

Here is my contribution to the launch this month.

If you would like to see the other ladies offerings just click on the banner above. And as always you can click on my photo to go get to my ebay auction.

A Snowy Day

It's another snowy day in New England! Hubby and i took the kiddos out to help us shovel, and i managed to snap some cute photos between shovel loads. The snow banks along side our driveway are taller than me right now, i'm 5'3" if you were wondering. Well, my 5 1/2 year old is up and down those hills, making slides and forts. But it was my 2 1/2 year old that had me amazed today. I look over to find that he had climbed up a snow bank and was "scaling" the edge, with almost a sheer drop to the snowy driveway lol!! it was the funniest thing! This little guy has no fear! Here's some of the pics that i got... thought i'd share some snow with you all.... and some smiles!

This next one is directly from my point of view...... yes the snow is really that high right there!

Getting in touch with my whimsical side!

So... i went fabric shopping with my mom a few weeks ago. Here i am picking out pastel purple and lime green! We were at the cutting table and my mom looks at me and asks "Who are you and what have you done with my daughter??? You who normally pick out dark earthy colors, what's with the pastels??" Well i thought she was going to have a heart attack!! lol! So I said "Well Mom..... i just feel like getting in touch with my whimsical side" lol! The girl cutting my fabric was just laughing, she said she was proud to be a part of it lol!

Anyway...... this is for my whimsical side! It's also my first attempt at using paper clay! After 2 weeks of work, and wanting to pull my hair out, i'm pretty happy with the outcome. I'm hoping that next time will be easier.
Here she is! If you want to see more of her just click on her to go to my ebay listing. If for some odd reason she doesn't sell at auction than she'll be put in my Etsy store.

I'v been Tagged!

Well... i was tagged by Cora of Hidden Riches from Secret Places. Now i suppose i need to list 5 interesting things about myself...... hmmmmmmmmmm.

1. Being from Maine i grew up in the snow. I learned how to downhill ski at the age of 5, riding down the "bunny hill" between my daddy's skis. To this day i swear he had me way up at the top of the mountain with a sheer drop in front of me! lol! I was technically on cross country skis before the age of 2... riding in a carrier on my mom's back lol!

2. I met my hubby when i was 14, and he was 18. I knew very quickly that he was the one.... but it took him 4 years to figure it out.

3. I HATE to clean!! Probably because when i do clean i have to have everything a certain way, just perfect, almost OCD..... and i drive myself nuts. So it's better if i just ignore it lol!!!!!

4. I LOVE to sing!! Especially any form of praise and worship. I sing in our church's worship band called "Refuge". I love every minute of it.... tho it's hard work!! I'v been singing in that kind of setting since i was 13, but took a break for a while when my boys were born.

5. I knit... not well.... but i knit lol! Been working on a scarf for hubby for the past 5 years hehehe..... finally have one about half finished.

So that's me.

Now on Etsy!!

Well... i did it. I'v set up a shop on Etsy!! I have focused so much time solely on ebay... i think it's time to open up some more doors. I am hoping to have a more whimsical feel to my Etsy items, as apposed to the primitive feel of my ebay items. I'm not sure how that will work yet, but it will be fun to try... and what's the point of doing anything if it's not fun lol!
